Big Reveal - 26 Political Principles!

http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/2017/03/the-great-and-powerful-to-z-challenge.html

This year I will be kicking off my blog and entering the "2017 A to Z Blogging Challenge" with the topic: 26 Political Principles!

My original intention was to write about creativity in fiction. In that alternative universe, I would have presented a  huge treatise on on plot outlining ;-)

You see, in recent years, fiction writing had become the biggest part of my life. At the same time, the intensity of my feelings about politics pretty much waned. The amount of time I spent reading and chatting about issues of the day decreased as well. It's quite possible that boring old Obama wasn't creating as many riveting topics as his predecessor, George W. Bush. No matter what you think of GW you can't deny he kept politics interesting. (I follow Canada's and a few other countries' politics as well but my interest in their events waned as well.)

I began to favour more general topics like philosophy, history and religion etc. I was particularly interested in how they were used in dramas and novels. Of course, politics falls under the umbrella of these categories; but, for me, it was considered in an increasingly general, even cerebral context.

Then 2016 Happened. I found myself, bit by bit, being sucked back into political discussions; mostly in the no holds barred politics chat room of freechess.org. This place, which has always been more about a hostile kind of entertainment than scholarly learning, became even more so in the ensuing fracas of, not just US, but world politics of 2015 and 2016. The bottom line is: these conversations, combined with readings I did inspired this blogs kick off.

The A to Z Blogging Challenge:

The format of the blogging challenge is that each of 26 days throughout April (some Sundays are skipped) an essay will be posted that somehow utilizes a letter of the alphabet. I can only say I will do my bestest to follow these constraints ;-)

I will use the A to Z Challenge to outline some principles based on ideas I came up with through my philosophical readings and life experience combined. Observations of our world's events will not be ignored; but, my intention here is to apply principles to observations after the month of April. At that point, (when the 26 day challenge is finished) I will do my best to update the blog about once per week. Further down the road maybe we can get into some philosophy and religion as well.

Ok guys,  I have to start writing these essays now. See you in April!

  1. Okay, you've got my attention. I've been doing a lot of political posts over the past year or so--actually I've always dabbled in some controversy at my site. I'm going to steer away from the politics for April since I seemed to be upsetting some of my readers, but now I can still get a fix from your series. Sounds very interesting.

Good for you for making the Challenge an even bigger challenge!

    1. First of all, thanks for helping me in the emails.

Ive heard about your blog and will check it out. Were probably coming from different sides of the debate but I think its probably better to post your political ideas if readers being upset is the reason youre not choosing politics. One way or the other, some of these ideas can be decided through debate/discussion.. but the ideas have to be exposed for that to happen.
